I adore the smell of clothing that has been dried on the line. I’ve been hanging up the laundry, whenever the weather allows, for my entire adult life. My clothespins of choice are the plastic type. (I believe my adversion to wooden ones comes from the occasional splinter-in-your-panties when I was younger.) I asked the husband to pick me up some new ones because my old ones were starting to break apart from sun exposure. He couldn’t find them. Target? WalMart? HomeDepot? Lowes? KMart? Nada.
Leave it to my ever faithful Amazon to come through with these beauties (pic above). I wanted to have them easily accessible, not blow away in the wind (we gust around 40 mph nearly every day), and prettified. Enter one lonely blue plant pot and Voila! Instant beauty.
Given that I must have Project ADD, I noticed that my old clothesline had seen better days. It also subdivided the deck awkwardly and attempted to, well, clothesline you as you walked around.
I had one of these shipped from Target:

My wonderful husband pointed out that if we mounted it to the deck railing, as I had intended, it was likely to be blown away in the wind. So, I asked him to carry the umbrella stand from the patio to the deck. (It weighs about 6000 lbs, so this was no small request.)

[Note: Pay absolutely no attention to Alyson's added yellow string "decoration".]
Yea! I have a collapsable clothesline that holds a ton of clothing, new pretty clippies and somewhere to store them. Life is good.
Oh, and here’s a gratuitous pet picture. I had just shoved Tala out of the way when Nova appeared in the frame. It’s actually quite tough taking a picture around here without a child or pet in it.
